Early Game to First Gym

Amaranth Farmstead

The player starts their journey where all good Pokémon stories start - in their home. As the son of a farmstead owner, despite being your 18th birthday - you've got chores to do!

Once the player completes their chores, one of the farmhands digging a new well finds an item: A [Strange Gemstone](../Items/Strange Gemstone.md). Returning home, they're given a very special birthday gift gift: A starter Pokémon. And a new Furness Co Picture Box!

That night, however, a masked assailant breaks into the house and attempts to steal the gemstone. The player is able to re-obtain the gemstone, before returning home and trying to sleep.

The next morning, your parents ask you to head to the nearest town and fetch a policeman. The player heads through Route 1, where they can't progress due to a tree which fell in the storm, so proceeds on to Armeria Town.
